Best time to visit India


India is fabulous country enrich with art craft and culture. There are 28 states and 9 union territories. Different in food life style tradition festivals etc. The Climate of India comprises a wide range of weather conditions India  hosts six major climatic subtypes, ranging from arid desert in the west, alpine tundra and glaciers in the north, and humid tropical regions supporting rain forests in the southwest and the island territories

  
In general the weather can be divided in to four major seasons Summer Rainy (monsoon) post monsoon and winter The best time or season to travel  India is winter which occurs between October and March when the monsoon rains have ceased and the country is largely cool and dry. Which makes an ideal condition for foreign tourists to visit major parts of India.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) in India there are four climatological seasons
·         Winter, occurring from December to February. The year's coldest months are December and January, when temperatures average around 10–15 °C (50–59 °F) in the northwest;temperatures rise as one proceeds towards the equator, peaking around 20–25 °C (68–77 °F) in mainland India's southeast.
·         Summer or pre-monsoon season, lasting from March to May. In western and southern regions, the hottest month is April; for northern regions of India, May is the hottest month. Temperatures average around 32–40 °C (90–104 °F) in most of the interior.
·         Monsoon or rainy season, lasting from June to September. The season is dominated by the humid southwest summer monsoon, which slowly sweeps across the country beginning in late May or early June. Monsoon rains begin to recede from North India at the beginning of October. South India typically receives more rainfall.
·         Post-monsoon or autumn season, lasting from October to November. In the northwest of India, October and November are usually cloudless. Tamil Nadu receives most of its annual precipitation in the northeast monsoon season.




 So in general The best time to visit India is in between the month of October and March, when the weather is more likely to be sunny, and dry with average temperature
During this time, the north of India  offers clear blue skies. However, December and January are much cooler, with potential fog, while the higher Himalaya can be very cold, but with clearer mountain views. Increasing temperatures in April and May can result in excellent value trips, but you can expect high humidity level. Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh, located in the far north, is most accessible between June and September, when the rest of the country experiences monsoon season. The best time to visit India’s southern states is from November onwards, once the monsoon has ended.

North India fell to the Delhi Sultanate; south India was united under the Vijayanagara Empire. In the early modern era, the expansive Mughal Empire was followed by East India Company rule. India's modern age was marked by British Crown rule and a nationalist movement which, under Mahatma Gandhi, was noted for nonviolence and led to India's independence in 1947.

Economic liberalization, begun in 1991, has caused India to become a fast growing major economy and a newly industrialized country. Its gross domestic product ranks sixth in the world in market exchange rates and third in purchasing power parity. Its per capital income ranks 133rd and 116th in the two measures. India faces challenges of poverty, corruption, malnutrition, and inadequate public healthcare. A nuclear weapons state and regional power, it has the second largest active military in the world and ranks high in military expenditure. India is a secular, federal republic, governed in a democratic parliamentary system, and administered in 29 states and seven union territories. A pluralistic, multilingual and multi-ethnic society, India is home to 1.3 billion people. It is also home to a high diversity of wildlife in a variety of protected habitats.
